Amazon Assistant

Role guide

Hire a Remote Amazon Assistant

Seller Central operations, listing support, inventory and account health for Amazon sellers.

What an Amazon assistant does

An Amazon assistant supports the day-to-day operation of a seller account. The work is detail-heavy: listings, inventory, shipments, reimbursements and the account-health signals that can affect your ability to sell.

Typical responsibilities

  • Creating and optimizing product listings

  • Monitoring inventory levels and preparing inbound shipments

  • Handling customer messages and A-to-z claims within Amazon’s rules

  • Watching account health, policy notices and listing suppression

  • Preparing reimbursement claims for lost or damaged units

  • Compiling weekly sales, advertising and inventory reports

Skills to look for

  • Practical knowledge of Seller Central

  • Careful reading of policy language

  • Data comfort: reports, spreadsheets and basic KPIs

  • Consistency in repetitive tasks

  • Discretion with account credentials

Software and tools

  • Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central

  • Helium 10, Jungle Scout or similar research tools

  • Sellerboard or other profit-tracking tools

  • Google Sheets

  • A password manager with shared vaults

Experience to look for

Ask which account types and marketplaces they worked on, and how they handled a suppressed listing or policy warning. Avoid sharing your primary login; use Amazon’s user permissions instead.

Interview questions

  1. Walk me through creating a new listing from scratch.

  2. What would you do if a listing were suddenly suppressed?

  3. How do you prepare an inbound FBA shipment?

  4. Describe how you identify a reimbursable inventory issue.

  5. Which reports do you review each week?

  6. How do you keep account credentials safe?

When to hire an Amazon assistant

  • Listings and inventory need daily attention

  • You have received policy notices you don’t have time to address

  • Your advertising or reporting has fallen behind

Hiring an Amazon assistant internationally

Set access levels through Seller Central’s user permissions and use two-step verification. Marketplace rules change, so needs review: confirm current Amazon policies before defining tasks.
