What an e-commerce assistant does

An e-commerce assistant handles the operational load of an online store: keeping listings accurate, orders flowing and customers informed. They are useful across platforms and are often the first hire for a growing seller.

Typical responsibilities

  • Creating and updating product listings, titles and descriptions

  • Processing orders and coordinating with suppliers or 3PLs
